MotoGP world champion Fabio Quartararo was taken to the hospital after a major accident during the first practice session at the Italian Grand Prix. Quartararo crashed when his bike’s front slipped away from him at Turn 4 in Mugello after just 10 minutes of practice. He dislocated his left shoulder and had it popped back into place on the spot. Quartararo insisted on continuing the session but was eventually sent to a hospital in Florence for an MRI scan. Despite finishing the session in fifth place, his further participation in the weekend’s events depends on the hospital’s assessment of his shoulder.
